VW Polo 2004 1.4 Engine Dies Twice with P0106 MAP Sensor Fault Code

Model: vw polo 2004 1.4 Fault Code: P0106 Posted: 2015-07-13 14:39

Hi, I own a 2004 VW Polo 1.4 and have been receiving the P0106 diagnostic code related to the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. The car has been running fine for some time despite this fault code. However, today the engine unexpectedly died twice. It is currently running normally, but I'm concerned whether this intermittent stalling could be directly linked to the P0106 MAP sensor issue. Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mark

The P0106 code is commonly associated with a faulty MAP sensor, which can lead to engine misfires and intermittent stalling. This could explain the sudden engine shutdowns you're experiencing. Check for sensor corrosion or wiring issues—sometimes simple cleaning or replacement resolves the problem.

I'm experiencing a similar issue with my VW Polo 1.4: P0106 code present, engine runs smoothly under normal conditions, but I have intermittent starting problems—sometimes it won't start at all. Did you manage to fix the P0106 MAP sensor issue? Any advice on diagnosis or replacement would be helpful.
