received po431 code on my 4 motion passat 6cyl, and observed leak in exhaust system - middle box - just after both cat towards the back of the car , should this be of concern since it is after the cat. Car is driving excellent. Can i repair the cat?
I am in the process of repairing exhaust leak, however can i continue to drive the vehicle with the engine light on; the light is not flashing and the vehicle is driving well.( seemingly cc malfunction ) or other problem
the problem with operating with the CEL on is that you have NO warning of a more serious issue - the light is already on. Suggest you concentrate on repairing leak - limit driving to be overly cautious.
