P0441, P0442, P0446 Fault Codes and Fuel Filling Issues in 2005 Toyota Echo

Model: Toyota Echo Fault Code: P0441 Posted: 2017-09-25 08:14

Hi everyone, I'm looking for help with my 2005 Toyota Echo (1.5L manual transmission). The check engine light is on, and the onboard diagnostic system has detected the following trouble codes: P0441, P0442, and P0446. Notably, I do not see a P0440 code. I'm also experiencing these symptoms: - I cannot fill my fuel tank without the gas nozzle clicking off every few seconds. - When I open the fuel cap, there's a noticeable hiss, indicating vapor pressure buildup behind the cap. - There is visible rust on the outer rim of the fuel cap. I'd like to resolve this issue myself before taking it to a mechanic. Any insights or DIY solutions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help.

If you're attempting a do-it-yourself fix, start by diagnosing and addressing the P0446 code. Refer to this forum's troubleshooting section for detailed causes and solutions related to these specific codes.

Did you manage to resolve this issue? If yes, what was the root cause? I'm currently experiencing the same P0441, P0442, and P0446 codes on my 2003 Toyota Echo and would like to know how it was fixed.
