I own a 2001 Toyota Tacoma with an extended cab, 4WD, 3.4L V6 engine, 106,000 miles, and a 5-speed manual transmission. After replacing the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor and resetting the vehicle's computer, I'm still experiencing the P1135 diagnostic code — which indicates an air-fuel metering issue. The code appears for about one minute before resetting itself and then returning shortly after. The vehicle performs normally with no noticeable drivability issues, but fuel efficiency has significantly decreased. I've confirmed that the MAF sensor was properly installed and replaced with a new unit, yet the P1135 persists. I'm seeking advice on what could be causing this issue — is it possible the replacement MAF is defective or that there's a problem in the air-fuel circuit?
