1997 Chevy Suburban C1500 Won't Start with P0141 and P0161 OBD2 Codes

Model: Suburban Fault Code: P0141 Posted: 2011-12-17 11:29

Hi, I'm having trouble starting my 1997 Chevrolet Suburban C1500 (350 engine, automatic transmission). The engine cranks normally but will not start — it doesn't even attempt to fire. Fuel pump is functioning and shows good pressure. I tested one spark plug and observed a strong white-blue spark, indicating proper ignition system function. All fuses have been checked and are intact. The Check Engine Light is off, despite the presence of OBD2 fault codes P0141 and P0161. The truck was running fine prior to this issue. Are these two sensor faults commonly related? What could be causing a failure to start without any engine light illumination? Thanks, Steve

What is the exact fuel pressure and flow rate? If you inject throttle cleaner into the throttle body, does the engine attempt to start? Does the Check Engine Light come on during this test? It seems odd that you have fault codes but no illuminated warning light. Are there any blown fuses related to the fuel injectors or sensor circuits?
