P2177 Diagnostic Code on 2005 Skoda Octavia Hatch (1.4L Bi-Fuel Petrol/LPG) After LPG Conversion

Model: Skoda Bi Fuel Petrol/LPG Fault Code: P2177 Posted: 2020-09-10 23:47

After converting my 2005 Skoda Octavia Hatch 1.4L (1Z3 type) to a bi-fuel system that runs on petrol during cold starts and switches to LPG after warm-up, the P2170 EML light suddenly activated post-conversion. The vehicle runs smoothly with no hesitation or stuttering during acceleration, and the petrol switch-over function works correctly. However, the EML (Engine Malfunction Lamp) remains illuminated, which is a failure point under MOT testing — as per official regulations, any active EML light results in an automatic fail. I have already checked for common issues such as oxygen sensor faults, but no fault code has been triggered related to the O2 sensor. The P2177 code appeared exclusively after the LPG conversion and is not present when the engine is running on petrol alone. Given that this is a 2005 Skoda Octavia Hatch with a 1.4L engine, what is the most effective solution to resolve the P2177 code and eliminate the EML light? Is it related to fuel system calibration, LPG sensor misalignment, or another component in the bi-fuel setup?
