02 Silverado P0171/174 New MAF Installed -No start
I have a 2002 Silverado with 5.3 (Non-flex) that start to cough and buck the truck late last week. When driving see to be in the 30-40 speed range. Started to troubleshoot Saturday morning with Innova 3120 reader, drove most of morning with no codes or issue shown. Went for second ride in afternoon engine started showing same issue of loss of power at acceleration, minor buck, then got to a side street where truck died. Found P0171/174, engine would start and be rough at idle and had to prime pushing the pedal to get above 500rpm and keeping running. Issue pointed to MAF, pulled and cleaned with MAF cleaner, installed new air filter. Engine show minor improvement on high side with idle rough. Scanner showed red light (green/yellow/red) having something to go fix. Then installed new MAF, red light gone, clear codes. Now engine will not start at all. Am I missing something? Fuel Pump? BAD new MAF?
I am at a loss for the green, yellow, red light.... lets start simple- 1) vehicle is STOCK no modifications, recient work or miracle aftermarket parts. 2) the only codes are P0171 Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 1 P0174 Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 2 both at same tine suggest a Vac leak- ck post MAF, PCV, etc Why did you condem MAF? for a no start - answer above questions, recheck codes do not erase, then using a fuel pressure gauge, post PSI and leak down rate, ck spark at several plugs.
