S3 8P1 Fuel System Faults: P310B, P129F, P2540 - Engine Dies After Warm-Up, Needs Immediate Fix
I recently purchased this S3 8P1 model just 3-4 days ago. Initially, there were no warning lights or issues. However, after driving the car and allowing it to warm up, I noticed a problem: when I turn the engine on after about 5 to 10 seconds, it struggles for 3–6 seconds with noticeable rev bounce and a lumpy sound. The engine then cuts out completely, though it restarts fine afterward. It typically runs normally once restarted, but will suddenly die unexpectedly. I've been given these diagnostic error codes: - P310B (012555): Low Pressure Fuel Regulation – Fuel Pressure Outside Specification - P129F (004767): Low-Pressure Fuel Pressure Regulation – Pressure Too High - P2540: Low Pressure Fuel System Sensor Circuit Range/Performance I've been advised to check the cam follower, but I'm unsure if that's the root cause. The car is due for a drive next week, and I can't wait until next weekend to get it fixed. Any insights or suggestions on how to address these fuel system issues would be greatly appreciated.
If you purchased the car from a dealer, consider taking it back — a reputable dealership should resolve such critical fuel system faults at no cost to the buyer.
