00 Plymouth Breeze P1391 and P0122: Died at 60mph, No Start After Sensor Replacement

Model: Plymouth Breeze Fault Code: P0122 Posted: 2019-01-20 18:25

My 2000 Plymouth Breeze was running fine until it suddenly died while driving at 60 mph. It won't start now. After replacing the camshaft position (CMP) and crankshaft position (CKP) sensors, the P1391 code disappeared, but a new P0122 code appeared. I've checked all wiring and relays, yet there's no spark and I haven't performed a fuel pressure test. A few days before these issues started, I noticed a ticking or tapping noise coming from the passenger side. The car was scanned with an OBD2 scanner—initially showing P1391 and later P0335 after sensor replacement. Now it's stuck with P0122. Any advice on diagnosing this issue? I'm currently checking for 12V at the injectors and coils, and will perform a fuel pressure test soon.

Did you verify the wiring connections before replacing the CMP and CKP sensors? Note: Always use OEM or Jeep-specific sensors—especially for CKP. Did you use an OBD2 scanner to check all stored and live data? The 'key-on-off' trick is essential. Without a full scan, focus on basic diagnostics: check 12V at injectors and coils, test fuel pressure, and verify spark at multiple plugs.

I used an OBD2 scanner to run the diagnostic—it showed P1391 initially. After replacing the CMP and CKP sensors, both codes cleared. I then attempted to start the engine but it failed and now shows a P0122 code.

"I ran the scanner—it's a certain MD." Could you clarify what 'certain MD' means? Were you using an OBD2 scanner or a basic code reader? The codes disappeared after sensor replacement—why did you replace them in the first place? Confirm if there’s 12V at the injectors and coil during key-on-off. What is your fuel pressure reading?

I replaced the sensors after scanning the vehicle. It's a 2000 Plymouth Breeze with a certain engine model (MD). I'm now checking for 12V at the injectors and coil, as recommended.
