Nissan Sunny 2012 P0335 Fault: Engine Turns Off at 3 RPM - Solution Guide

Model: NISSAN SUNNY Fault Code: P0335 Posted: 2016-01-17 00:50

I own a 2012 Nissan Sunny and am experiencing a serious issue where the engine automatically shuts off when the RPM reaches 3, even when the car is in neutral. As soon as I press the accelerator, the RPM hits 3 and the engine cuts out completely. After scanning the vehicle with an OBD2 scanner, the error code displayed is P0335 - Engine Speed Sensor Circuit. This issue is critical as it affects drivability and safety. The crankshaft position sensor (CKP) is likely involved, but I need a clear, step-by-step solution to fix this problem. Any insights or troubleshooting steps for the P0330/P0335 error on a 2012 Nissan Sunny would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Inspect the crankshaft position sensor circuit for open circuits, short circuits, or wiring damage. Also verify the integrity of the sensor itself using a multimeter or diagnostic tool. A faulty sensor or poor electrical connection can trigger P0335 and cause engine shutdown at low RPMs.

Thanks for the advice! I cleaned the crankshaft position sensor with a dedicated sensor cleaner, and after that, the issue was resolved. The car now runs smoothly without any engine shutdown at 3 RPM. This solution worked perfectly for my 2012 Nissan Sunny.
