no other codes or issues? vehicle is STOCK? p0021 is bank 2 - Oil pressure is ? If you used aftermarket solenoids - ck ohms 7.0 - 7.7Ω at 20°C (68°F). Manual suggests CKP replacement - Hard to justify but I mention. I would add 1 bottle of risolone an oil detergent maybe some varnish sludge. Advise as the next steps will have you checking cam oil groves,

I just added risolone last night . let run for about 20 min. at idle. cleared code p0021. drove it to work this morning feel like a new car ? started fine very smooth idle and acceleration? service engine light is off . will keep you informed as time goes on . no other codes - truck is stock- not set up to measure oil pressure . the oil gauge looks good on the dashboard.

2006 pathfinder - still running with resioline in engine . I checked voltage to both of the timing solenoids with a volt meter . the + side read 12.7 volts . the - side read 12.1 volts coming off the battery with leads. I checked the ECM relay tested good . I cleaned the connectors with contact cleaner and etched them with a pick . I am getting the p0021 code more frequently now . I stated that the resoline was working . but that same day the p0021 code popped up .it is also having more frequent hard starting also. I am hoping that there is a simple fix ?

Much of this is exactly what I've run into as well with my 2005 frontier 4.0L. My issue all started during an inspection though. And never had an code till then. We had a new inspection system in VT and after all the info was collected the tech pushed the send button to share the info with DMV,,then all my dash lights flashed on and off 2-3 times and the check engine light stayed on. Being a machanic myself we both kinda looked at each other with a "what was that " kinda look !! We cleared the code and all seemed fine, till 2 miles down the road, it came back on. Cam position sensor. Discover more Honda Fit OBD Codes Ignition coil I've cleared it several times and sometimes when it comes back on,,which is real soon,,it has an additional random code. 4-5 different ones so far. All the things here so far I have tried other than the "resoline" but I've always use the proper weight oil and full synthetic at that. The first code after the inspection snafu was a cam pos sensor, changed next, mass air leak, fixed, next bank 2 VVT solenoid, fixed. Yet I still get constant P0021 codes no matter what plus the occasional random other codes which don't seem to come back . Yup,also fresh oil, which wasn't dirty to start with, the proper NGK uridum plugs, VVT solenoid, new valve on the gas tank condenser ,gas cap, both cam position sensors and it still runs funky and after all that, no one else can seem to clear those codes, and many have tried including a dealership tech! The only possible thing I can think of now is to flash the computer and update it,,a dealer service only I gather for a mere 200+ bucks or so,,OUCH !! Any suggestions?

update from Nissan adam sent 2006 pathfinder to the mechanic shop . all new timing chains. a new set of gallery gaskets with torque screws .I THINK THIS WAS THE MAIN PROBLEM . the gallery gaskets blew out causing low oil pressure to timing solenoids . all new tensioners and a new water pump. 2500.00 bill . picking it up today . 04/03/19. they also found the brand new crank shaft sensor to be bad . if it comes back p0021 p0011 I will let all know

Nissan adam p0021 spoke to mechanic . he found a weak hydraulic tensioner piston on 1 of the long tensioner guides. we could push it in and out by hand .I noticed the gasket on the back of the tensioner piston was cut or missing causing oil to pass . this caused the chain to jump about 2 notches. this is why the p0021 came up in my car . JUMPED TIMING . the gallery gaskets were still in tack . but very hardened. time to change anyway . after all parts were changed another sensor went bad . bank 2 . brand new found bad . he changed it with the old camshaft sensor . and the readings on his computer started to sink . p0021 is a major deal . if you see p0021 start thinking 2500.00 if you do it your self 500.00 to 700.00 in parts

Nissan adam 2006 pathfinder 89000 miles 4.0 code p0345 came into my life after all the new parts were replaced . I sent back to the mechanic . they worked on it for 3 more days. they did not replace the camshaft sensor again .they had to re flash the computer . and do a firm ware update . I just drove it back home . feels like a new car . easy start smooth idle . excellent acceleration . will be back if it stalls again .

Nissan adam 2006 pathfinder 4.0 p0345 the ipdm box did not help the problem . it still shuts down while driving .Nissan calls this LIMP MODE . p0345 still coming up more frequently . very hard to start up . I found out from the Nissan parts dep. that this problem is common . the factory cam and crankshaft sensors go bad causing the p0345 code . Nissan said since they all work together with the computer . might be good to change all 3 with the updated sensors. factory price 300.00 . I paid 59.99 for all 3 on ebay. Nissan said you bought old new stock . another words they went bad just sitting on someone's shelf. these are magnetic sensors. and magnets weaken over time. the new sensors even look different . back under the hood changing old new stock sensors with Nissan new stock sensors . will let you know if this works !

Nissan adam 2006 pathfinder 4.0 p0021 and p0345 working on this since 02/2019 . Nissan said I bought OLD NEW STOCK from EBAY . they were in NISSAN bags with NISSAN part numbers . THEY WERE BAD WHEN I GOT THEM. cam and crank shaft sensors. LESSON LEARNED ! when it comes to electronic sensors USE UPDATED FACTORY PARTS. looks like the sensors were the problem . truck runs like a dream now. DO NOT USE ANY AFTERMARKET SENSORS! I changed out all sensors 2 times . non of them worked .kept sending the engine into LIMP MODE. frequent stalling and very hard starting . now with the new 300.00 factory sensors -cam -crank . the truck is back to normal and starting quick and running smooth . NO ENGINE LIGHT
