2000 Nissan Frontier 6CL Stalls at High Speeds with P0340, P0325, and P1105 Error Codes

Model: Nissan Frontier Fault Code: P0325 Posted: 2007-07-07 16:16

I own a 2000 Nissan Frontier 6-cylinder model with approximately 200,000 miles. My brother was driving it on the freeway at speeds of around 70-75 mph when the truck began to slow down unexpectedly. It dropped from 70 mph to about 40 mph, then further to 20 mph before they had to pull over. After turning off the engine, it would not restart—though the engine turns over, it fails to start. Diagnostic scans revealed three error codes: P0340 (Camshaft Position Sensor), P0325 (Knock Sensor), and P1105 (MAP Sensor). After clearing the codes, the vehicle still returned with a P0340 code. Based on technical references, the P0340 code can indicate issues ranging from a faulty sensor to problems in the Power Module Controller (PMC). I'm seeking advice on where to begin troubleshooting—especially whether the issue lies with the camshaft position sensor or other components like the PMC. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Gil.

The most likely cause is a faulty camshaft position sensor unless there's evidence that the camshaft has stopped rotating entirely.
