P0606 Diagnostic Code in 2006 Mitsubishi Colt CZ1 1.1L Petrol - ECU Replacement or Reset?

Model: Mitsubishi Colt Fault Code: P0606 Posted: 2017-03-10 03:36

Hi, I own a 2006 Mitsubishi Colt CZ1 1.1L petrol model and recently received the P0606 diagnostic error code. Can this code be reset without replacing the ECU? If replacement is necessary, can I simply swap out the ECU unit, or do I need to replace the entire ECU kit? Any insights on whether a factory-programmed ECU is required would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The vehicle is not commonly sold in this region. A new ECU may require dealer-level programming to function properly. It's important not to immediately conclude that a component is faulty just because of the error code. Have you made any modifications or added accessories to the vehicle? Please share details.

No modifications have been made. I only replaced the tires. A local service center advised that the ECU is faulty.

P0606 indicates a fault in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) processor. This suggests hardware-level issues with the ECU.
