Mercedes W203 P0008 and P000C Error Codes: Causes and Fixes for Camshaft Position Issues
Hello! I own a Mercedes W203 C220CDI (143HP, Build Year 2000) and am currently experiencing performance issues. The vehicle is showing two diagnostic error codes: - P0008: Engine Position System Performance - Bank 1 - P000C: Camshaft Position Slow Response - Bank 2 Several Mercedes dealerships have been unable to identify or resolve the root cause of these errors. Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Horstilein
Hey! I've encountered this issue before. It's typically caused by a stuck Pierburg swirl motor or swirl valves. The repair can be done from underneath the vehicle. Simply remove the shifter mount bracket and self-starter to access the components. In Hungary, the part replacement cost was approximately 30,000 HUF.
