Mercedes-Benz R500 P2034 and P0335 Fault Codes: Startup Issues After Replacing Crankshaft Sensor and Purge Valve

Model: Mercedes-Benz R500 Fault Code: P0335 Posted: 2016-02-27 11:55

Hi, I'm experiencing P2034 and P0335 fault codes on my Mercedes-Benz R500. The vehicle occasionally takes several attempts to start and may shut off mid-start. The check engine light comes on and then turns off after about four starts. The issue does not occur when the engine is warm, and I can drive normally once warmed up. I have already replaced both the crankshaft position sensor and the purge valve, but the problem persists. Could anyone provide insight or suggestions for troubleshooting this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I own a 2006 Mercedes-Benz R500 and encountered the same P2034 and P0335 codes. Initially, a rat had chewed some wiring harnesses, which was causing intermittent signals. After repairing the damaged cables and replacing the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), the issue was fully resolved.
