Mercedes Benz ML350 2006 OBD II Fault Codes P0155, P0150, P0051: Causes and Repair Solutions

Model: Mercedes Benz ML350 2006 Fault Code: P0051 Posted: 2015-03-29 17:37

Hi everyone, New member here — recently picked up an OBD-II code reader for just $20 on eBay, which has eliminated my reliance on dealership charges! I'm currently seeing three fault codes on my 2006 Mercedes-Benz ML350: P0155, P0150, and P0051. All of these are related to Bank 2, Sensor 1 (also known as the oxygen sensor). After some online research, I understand that these codes often point to issues with the oxygen sensor or its associated wiring. However, I'm not sure whether each code requires a separate replacement part — or if replacing just one O2 sensor might resolve all three. Could someone clarify: does each fault code indicate a different issue requiring a unique repair, or can simply swapping out the Bank 2 Sensor 1 O2 sensor fix all of them? Thanks in advance for your help! Rob.

The three codes do not necessarily require separate parts. Before replacing the oxygen sensor, always check the wiring and connector connections to Bank 2 Sensor 1 first. A poor connection or damaged wire can trigger multiple related fault codes. If the O2 sensor is indeed faulty, it's recommended to replace it with an OEM part from the dealership rather than an aftermarket option for reliability and compatibility.
