Mercedes Benz A190 P0560 and P0600 Fault Codes: Causes and Solutions for Starting Issues and Transmission Delay

Model: Mercedes Benz A190 Fault Code: P0560 Posted: 2015-05-23 04:07

I own a Mercedes-Benz A190 and am experiencing two recurring issues. First, after turning off the ignition, the vehicle often fails to start immediately—sometimes requiring up to an hour before it restarts successfully. Second, the transmission responds with noticeable delay, lacking sharp gear shifts. Using my OBDII scanner, I've detected fault codes P056

P0560 indicates a system voltage malfunction; P0600 points to a serial communication link failure—both suggest potential electrical issues. Have you recently added any new electrical components, such as an alarm system, remote starter, battery disconnect, or audio system? If so, this could be the root cause.

I replaced my vehicle's battery recently and also upgraded all four wheel speed sensors. After changing the battery, the radio system prompted for a code that I no longer have access to—since then, it has stopped working entirely.

It’s possible that the recent battery replacement triggered these fault codes. For P0560 and P0600, especially in a Mercedes-Benz A190, an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership can assist with code clearing and system reinitialization.

Hello! I have a 2001 automated Mercedes-Benz A190. I recently rebuilt the engine and replaced the clutch. After performing the work, I used a scanner to check for faults but only see gears four and fifth appearing on the dashboard—no gear recognition. The scanner shows fault code 17470: 'Camshaft Position Bank 2 - Timing Over Retarded'. Please advise on how to resolve this issue.
