Mazda 3 P0507 Code: Causes, Fixes, and Solutions After Throttle Body Cleaning

Model: Mazda 3 Fault Code: P0507 Posted: 2011-12-29 09:58

I recently performed a tune-up and cleaned the throttle body on a 2005 Mazda 3 with a 4-cylinder, 5-speed manual transmission. I forgot to note the exact engine code, but the vehicle is currently being driven by the customer. After the service, the idle speed would spike to 2000 RPM and then drop back to normal after a few seconds. This behavior has triggered a P0507 diagnostic trouble code (DTC), which indicates an abnormal idle air control system performance or excessive idle speed. I suspect that the throttle body may be faulty, especially since I used an intake cleaner during the cleaning process. Some online forums suggest this could interfere with throttle body function. I have already cleared the P0507 code and thoroughly inspected all possible vacuum leaks, loose connections, or damaged wiring. However, no obvious issues were found. Does anyone else experience a similar issue after throttle body cleaning on their 2005 Mazda 3? What steps did you take to resolve it? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
