Mazda 3 CEL comes on after O2 sensor replacement

Model: Mazda 3 Fault Code: P0136 Posted: 2017-06-21 23:46

I have replaced both O2 sensors after a couple of weeks the CEL came back on and the scan reported three codes as follows: low bank1 sensor1 P0030 P0031 P0032 I thought the new sensor may have been faulty so got a new one on warranty and replaced it again. After 2 months the same codes appear and the car is a little sluggish. I am stumped, if anyone has any ideas or experience with a similar problem I would really appreciate hearing from you. Thanks.

Did you check the circuit before condemning sensor? Did you get sensor from MAZDA - aftermarket is very problematic. There are several 2.3L variants - what is the 8th character of vin # - 3,4, L or M. Turbo or non? and not a calif car.

I haven't checked the circuit, what should I be looking for? the sensor is a bosch direct replacement not a universal one. the car is Canadian non turbo GT. I was thinking that aftermarket may be the problem but odd that the 2nd one would fail too although nothing is impossible. 8th character of vin # is 3 Thanks

I show this as an air fuel sensor - a sophisticated o2 sensor, more reason to go only OEM. Did you check fuse to sensor? suspect fuse or non OEM sensor is the issue...Try checking fuse - do not just look at it.
