Kia Sportage P0501 and P0700 Fault Codes: Diagnosis and Transmission Shift Issues

Model: Kia Sportage Fault Code: P0501 Posted: 2013-08-13 08:33

I have a 2008 Kia Sportage with V6 engine that is showing fault codes P0501 and P0700. After clearing the codes, the transmission shifts normally during initial operation but fails to shift out of low gear after stopping. The vehicle also exhibits multiple warning lights including ABS, ESC, ESC Off, Brake, and TPMS. I have already replaced the right front wheel speed sensor with no improvement. I need a structured troubleshooting approach to identify the root cause of these issues. Any guidance on diagnosing P0501 (Mass Airflow Sensor or Intake System Issue) and P0700 (Transmission Control System Malfunction) would be greatly appreciated.

2008 Kia Sportage V6 model with brake light on, ESC light intermittently comes on and goes off, ESC Off light illuminated, TPMS and ABS lights also lit. The transmission shifts through gears during initial start-up but fails to shift out of low gear after stopping. Replaced the right front wheel speed sensor without resolving the issue.

All warning lights (ABS, ESC, ESC Off, Brake, TPMS) remain on. The transmission does not shift after initial operation and can only be manually shifted using the side gate gear lever when codes P0700 and U0001 are cleared.
