Jeep Wrangler 2007 P2302 Code: Misfire, Poor Performance, and Diagnosis Help

Model: Jeep Wrangler Fault Code: P2302 Posted: 2020-09-20 04:56

I own a 2007 Jeep Wrangler and about a year ago I performed a tune-up, replacing the spark plugs, wires, and coil pack. Since then, I've been experiencing persistent engine misfires. Last week, the vehicle started running very rough, with significantly reduced power and increased fuel consumption. After checking the diagnostic codes, I found P0300 (random/multiple cylinder misfire), P0305 (cylinder 5 misfire), and a new code: P2302. I replaced all three components—plugs, wires, and coil pack—believing it might be one of them failing. After the replacement, the vehicle ran slightly better, but the P2300 code persists. I've watched several YouTube videos on diagnosing this issue, but I'm still unable to identify or fix the root cause. Can anyone provide guidance on how to properly diagnose and resolve a P2302 code in a 2007 Jeep Wrangler?

Do you have a multimeter and test light to check the circuit for continuity or voltage issues? This can help identify problems with the ignition system or wiring related to code P2302.
