P0717 and P2784 Fault Codes in 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Transmission Stuck in First Gear

My 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee is currently stuck in first gear, and the check engine light is on due to two diagnostic trouble codes: P0717 (Turbine/Input Shaft Speed Sensor A Circuit No Signal) and P2784 (Input/Turbine Speed Sensor A/B Correlation). These codes are likely causing the transmission to enter limp mode. The vehicle is equipped with a NAG1 transmission. After researching, I believe the issue can be resolved by removing the transmission pan and replacing the speed sensor(s). However, I'm concerned whether this problem might indicate internal transmission damage. Any insights or experiences from owners of similar models would be greatly appreciated.
