2007 Chevrolet Impala P0615 Code: Won't Start - DIY Diagnosis Help Needed

Model: impala Fault Code: P0615 Posted: 2012-11-01 21:03

I have a 2007 Chevrolet Impala with a 3.5L engine (8th generation, VIN K). The vehicle is showing fault code P0615 and will not start. I've ruled out the starter, relay, fuse, or battery issues. Turning the key results in no response—no clicking, no power. It's also not a security-related issue. I contacted GM for diagnosis procedures, but they require me to visit a dealership and pay for service, which I cannot afford. I'm looking for DIY solutions using tools like ShopKeys5, AllData, or Mitchell On Demand—but I can't afford those either. Can anyone with access to these diagnostic systems help identify the root cause? The P0615 code typically relates to the crankshaft position sensor or related circuit issues. I've heard it might be a faulty remote battery stud (not the main battery terminal) or a fusible link in the harness. Any guidance on testing procedures—like checking for power at the crank relay, swapping relays, or shaking the wiring while powering up—would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help with this specific 2007 Impala model.

Is it a 3.5L or 3.4L engine? Try swapping the crankshaft relay with another known-good relay to test. The issue might be related to the remote battery stud (not the main battery terminal), which has a fusible link in the wiring harness. Shake the harness while checking for power at the relay to see if it's intermittent. PS: Does this vehicle have a remote starter? If yes, that could interfere with starting—ideally, no remote starter should be present.
