Hyundai i10 2011 Automatic: P2188, P2191, P0131, P0642 Fault Codes Causing Jerking, Poor Gear Shifts and Unstable Idling

Model: Hyundai Fault Code: P0131 Posted: 2019-03-22 19:09

Hi there, I'm experiencing serious driving issues with my 2011 Hyundai i10 automatic model. The vehicle exhibits severe jerking during gear shifts—especially when transitioning from first to second gear—and requires me to rev the engine up to 4500 RPM just to move smoothly. A diagnostic scan reveals multiple error codes: P2188 (Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction), P2191 (Fuel Trim Issue), P0131 (Oxygen Sensor A Signal Slow Response), and P0642 (Battery Voltage Regulator Fault). I'm trying to determine which specific fault is directly causing the jerking, poor gear shifting, and fluctuating idle. While P0340 (Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction) is also present, I want to understand how these codes are interconnected and what repairs or diagnostics would resolve the core symptoms. Any insights into the root cause or recommended troubleshooting steps for this combination of fault codes on a 2011 Hyundai i10 automatic would be greatly appreciated.

The air/fuel (A/F) sensor is a common culprit in these issues. Refer to the forum's troubleshooting section for detailed causes and repair solutions related to P0131 and similar codes.
