Hyundai Elantra P2626 and P0030 Fault Codes: O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Issues and Wiring Explanation

Model: Hyundai Elantra Fault Code: P0030 Posted: 2020-04-25 15:14

My 2008 Hyundai Elantra is displaying two diagnostic trouble codes: P2626 (O2 sensor pumping current trim circuit/open bank 1 sensor 1) and P0030 (generic O2 sensor heater control circuit fault for bank 1, sensor 1). I attempted to test the oxygen sensor but noticed it has five wires—blue, black, yellow, grey, and white. Can anyone confirm what each wire is responsible for? Is there a standard wiring configuration or pinout for this sensor?

You can verify the internal resistance of the sensor heater by measuring across two of its pins. The expected resistance should be between 3 and 4 ohms. While I don't have the exact pinout, larger gauge wire pairs—such as blue/black or black/grey—are likely to be the heater circuit. If the heater circuit reads open, the sensor must be replaced with an OEM-compatible unit.

I'm looking for someone who can confirm which specific wire corresponds to what function on this five-wire oxygen sensor. Would randomly testing each wire potentially damage the sensor or wiring?

With sensor disconnected you are measuring for resistance so not to cause damage. Try measuring across pins 4&5. Search for connector diagram, believe bottom two pins right to left. Let us know what you find.
