Hyundai Accent 2017 P0732: Reverse Gear Engagement Issues and Slow Acceleration

Model: Hyundai Accent Fault Code: P0732 Posted: 2019-12-08 19:22

My Hyundai Accent 2017 started showing symptoms four days ago when reversing — the reverse gear took a long time to engage. Yesterday, the vehicle began moving slowly while driving, and I can feel that the transmission gear is not properly engaging. The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is currently on. The diagnostic code retrieved is P0732 (Gear 2 Incorrect Ratio). This could indicate a mechanical issue within the transmission system.

Common causes of DTC P0732 include: low or dirty transmission fluid, mechanical failure inside the transmission, internal blockage in the main control valve, faulty shift solenoid, or a malfunctioning transmission control module. For more details, refer to official P0732 troubleshooting guides.

If the transmission pump fails, malfunctions, or becomes clogged, it may not supply adequate hydraulic pressure to the gear system, leading to poor gear engagement and slow vehicle acceleration. This is a potential contributor to P0730/P0732 symptoms in Hyundai Accent 2017 models.
