Hyundai Accent 2015 P0447 Permanent Code: Can It Be Cleared After Remote Starter Installation?
Hi everyone, I recently purchased a 2015 Hyundai Accent less than one month ago and am currently dealing with a persistent P0447 diagnostic trouble code (DTC). The check engine light has not come on during driving, but the scanning tool consistently reads a permanent P0447 code. I believe this issue originated when I installed a remote starter system. During troubleshooting, I accidentally swapped two data wires on the bypass module, which may have triggered a false coding event. Initially, the scanner showed a pending P0553 (which I cleared), followed by a permanent P0447 that has not cleared since. My question is: Is it possible to clear a permanent P0447 code on a 2015 Hyundai Accent? I’ve read that certain circuit-related codes require specific conditions—such as drive cycles—to be cleared automatically. Since the check engine light does not illuminate during operation, I suspect this might be a false alarm. I’ve checked all fuses and found them to be intact. I’m also trying to locate the evaporative (purge) valve, which appears to be near the charcoal canister at the rear of the vehicle. The purple wire running through the fuel injection harness is from the remote starter system. Given that this is a new vehicle under warranty, should I still proceed with a dealer visit? Or could this code clear on its own after sufficient driving cycles? Thank you for any insights! Nien
When does the check engine light (CEL) come on during each start? Is the P0447 code listed as pending or permanent in your scanner's memory? It might be a reader issue. If the underlying condition isn't resolved, you cannot erase this type of circuit-related code. Step 1: With the key off and engine off (KOEO), check for 12V at the vent valve.
