2012 Hyundai Accent P0326 Knock Sensor Code at 65,000 Miles - Automatic Transmission Issue
Hello everyone! I'm having an issue with my 2012 Hyundai Accent at approximately 65,000 miles. The check engine light is on and the fault code displayed is P0326 — Knock Sensor (KS) Circuit Range/Performance. Possible causes: - Open or short circuit in the knock sensor wiring - Poor electrical connection at the sensor or connector - Engine mechanical faults The car manual mentions that when the engine light is on or flashing, it may indicate an emission-related issue. However, I’ve noticed no unusual noises or warning signs until I reached a freeway ramp. While driving up the ramp, I experienced a loss of acceleration — which isn’t surprising given the Accent’s typical behavior. Once I merged onto the highway at around 45 mph, the engine RPM dropped to just 2–3. After exiting and revving the engine, it returned to about 4 RPM. When I re-entered the freeway and drove at 50 mph, there was no noticeable increase in power or responsiveness. I’m concerned because this is affecting my driving experience and I’ve already spent money helping another vehicle last week — now I'm running low on funds. Any advice on diagnosing or fixing P0326 in a 2012 Hyundai Accent with automatic transmission? Thanks in advance!
Is the vehicle still under warranty? This code is commonly linked to a faulty knock sensor.
