Honda Civic 2008 P0705 Trouble Code: D Light Blinks, Transmission Won't Move

Model: honda civic Fault Code: P0705 Posted: 2015-01-27 12:07

Hi, I own a 2008 Honda Civic and am experiencing the P0705 trouble code. When I turn the key on or start the engine, the check engine light blinks, and the transmission does not move, even when in Park or Neutral. The vehicle is showing a P0705 code, which indicates an issue with the Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch. This switch detects the position of the shift lever when in N or P and sends a signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM). I'm not sure if any recent repairs or modifications have been done to the vehicle.

P0705 Honda Civic Description: The Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch includes a transmission range switch. It detects the selector lever position when in N or P and sends a signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM). Have you performed any recent repairs, modifications, or work on the transmission or shift linkage? This could help identify if the issue is mechanical or electronic.

This query seems unrelated to the P0705 code. A 12.7 Detroit 320 engine cannot produce 525 HP, and adding feet of torque would not be a valid metric for this issue. Please focus on relevant vehicle-specific diagnostics for your Honda Civic 2008.
