Honda Accord 2005 OBD Code P0108: Symptoms and MAP Sensor Diagnosis
I accidentally drove my Honda Accord 2005 through a puddle of water, which I believe caused a hydro-lock. The engine eventually started but with unusual noises. After replacing the piston and connecting rod, the car ran smoothly for some time. However, two days later, the MIL light came on, and the vehicle begins to start roughly—sometimes even shutting off unexpectedly—and runs unevenly. It also fails to rev past 3000 rpm. An OBD scan revealed code P0108, which is associated with the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. Given these symptoms, I'm wondering whether this points directly to a faulty MAP sensor or if there could be another underlying issue. Should I replace the MAP sensor as a first step, or are there other diagnostics I should try before replacing any components? Any advice for troubleshooting this on a 2005 Honda Accord would be greatly appreciated.
