I am experiencing a P2279 diagnostic code indicating an air leak at the intake manifold. I have already inspected all relevant hoses and tubes, with no visible cracks or damage found. The EGR unit with cooler was replaced 5,000 km ago and has not resolved the issue. I also notice a smell of exhaust gas or burnt oil, especially when the vehicle is warmed up and the heating system is active. The code appears intermittently — after resetting it, the car runs normally for a short period before suddenly returning to the fault condition. At that point, the warning light activates, and the engine enters test mode. Any reliable troubleshooting steps or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
