DTC P0174 on Ford Windstar Minivan: Diagnosis and Fixes
I'm seeking help diagnosing DTC P0174 on my Ford Windstar minivan. I've already checked for vacuum leaks, but no issues were found. The PCV system is difficult to access on this model, so I plan to clean the MAF sensor today to see if that resolves the issue. If I unplug the MAF sensor, will that help determine whether it's truly faulty or if another component is at fault? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
The MAF sensor is unlikely to be the root cause. A more probable issue is a vacuum leak from the intake gaskets and the rubber grommets around the mounting bolts—this is very common on Ford Windstar minivans. The PCV system and other components are much easier to access once the wiper cowl is removed, which can be done with relative ease.
