I'm experiencing the same P1506 code on my 1996 Ford Ranger. The check engine light came on and just went off today. After some research, I believe it's related to the idle air control (IAC) sensor. I'm planning to replace it this weekend — 'price willing'. While I don't think it's a major issue, I'm replacing it anyway as a precaution.
