We are experiencing a persistent hard cranking issue with our 2014 Ford Ranger. The vehicle only starts when pushed into gear, which suggests a transmission-related problem. A diagnostic scan reveals fault code P0721, indicating a malfunction in the transmission speed sensor. We initially suspected that this sensor failure was causing the hard cranking behavior, but after replacing the speed sensor with a new one, the issue remains unresolved. Could the P0721 code be directly linked to the difficulty in cranking? What could be the underlying cause of this problem on our 2014 Ford Ranger?
