Ford Kuga P0808 Error Code: EPB Not Releasing, Start/Stop Issues After Clutch Master Cylinder Replacement
Hi everyone, I'm a UK resident and need some help with an issue on my Ford Kuga after replacing the clutch master cylinder. Following the replacement of the clutch master cylinder (performed by a mobile mechanic I trust), my car has started displaying error code P0808. This is new and wasn't present before the repair. In addition to the error code, several unusual issues have emerged: - The Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) does not release when pressing the accelerator — it only releases when manually pressed via the EPB button. - If a window is left open, I must press the start/stop button to power on the vehicle's electrical system. - Pressing the start/stop button alone does not turn off the engine. To shut down, I now need to press both the clutch and brake pedals before pressing the start/stop button — this sequence starts the engine, after which I can then use the button to turn it off. - When attempting to re-start the vehicle (after turning off), there is a distinct 'click-click-click' sound (three clicks) similar to a relay trying to engage. - The gear indicator icon on the dashboard — showing whether the transmission is in drive or reverse — has disappeared entirely. I’ve used Forscan to confirm the P0808 error code and have scheduled an appointment with an auto electrician later today to scan the system for further diagnostics. The mechanic who replaced the clutch master cylinder claims he completed his part of the job correctly and says no other issues are his responsibility. I'm now concerned that this may be a misdiagnosis or a related issue caused by improper reassembly or wiring. Any insights, experiences, or suggestions on how to troubleshoot this P08 or potential connections between the clutch system and the EPB/start/stop functions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
