2011 Ford Fiesta P0068 Fault Code: Air Flow Sensor Issue Diagnosis

Model: Ford Fiesta Fault Code: P0068 Posted: 2014-08-05 10:47

Fault Code: P0068 - Fuel & Air Metering System (MAP/MAF) - Throttle Position Correlation Failure Test Result Summary: - Maximum Reading: 22,737 - Minimum Reading: 6,240 - Test Value: 26,288 - Status: FAIL I have been investigating a recurring P0068 fault on my 2011 Ford Fiesta. The issue appears to be related to air flow sensing and throttle position correlation. I initially suspected the air filter or intake hose clamps, as Ford previously diagnosed an alternator problem and recommended a new air filter. I have tested both a stock air filter and a K&N replacement installed in the factory airbox. After removing the K&N filter and re-installing the original stock filter (used during cleaning), the check engine light returned on. I also disconnected the intake hose from the throttle body, cleaned it with a rag, and reconnected it. The fault code remains active. I plan to perform a full intake system clean and inspect all connections before further diagnostics.

Assuming you're using the stock air filter? Many owners of newer Ford Fiestas report issues with aftermarket air filters, especially in the AM (Air Management) system. Your troubleshooting steps are a solid starting point—please update us when you've completed your checks or if the P0068 code persists.

Thanks for the update. I'm currently using a K&N filter with the stock airbox (the original filter was cleaned and reused). After removing the K&N and reinstalling the stock filter, the check engine light came back on. I also removed the intake hose from the throttle body, wiped it clean with a rag, and reconnected it. The P0068 code remains active. I plan to perform a full cleaning of all intake components when time allows.
