2003 Ford F150 P0125 Fault: Low Coolant Temperature Code Diagnosis
I'm experiencing severe knocking noises coming from under the hood of my 2003 Ford F150. After changing the oil, the noise reduced slightly when I let the engine idle in park. However, the knocking returns intermittently. My OBD-II scanner has detected a P0125 code. I'm concerned about what this means and how to address it properly.
The P0125 code indicates that the engine coolant temperature is too low for an extended period. Please check the coolant level and look for signs of oil in the coolant or coolant in the engine oil. Additionally, verify if there's any fuel contamination in the engine oil—this could affect starting difficulty or cause excessive cranking. Did you remove or replace the thermostat during maintenance? If not, it may be a contributing factor. If none of these issues apply, consider using an actual oil pressure gauge to measure oil pressure, as dashboard readings can be inaccurate.
