2006 Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI - P0001 Code, Blue Smoke, Rough Idle, No Glow Plug Light

Over the past few days, my 2006 Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI has exhibited intermittent starting issues. When cold-starting, I notice blue smoke from the exhaust and a rough idle that lasts no more than 30 seconds before returning to normal. Today, after driving approximately 30 miles and stopping for three hours, the vehicle failed to start. The ignition switch is turned on, but there is no glow plug light illumination. A clicking sound comes from one of the relays, and the glow plug indicator flickers briefly. The onboard diagnostic system displays code P0001. The engine turns over but does not start.
