2003 Ford F250 5.4L P0743 Code: Shift Sensor Replacement Failed, Possible PCM Issue?

I own a 2003 Ford F250 with a 5.4L V8 engine and am currently experiencing a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0743. I replaced the transmission shift position sensor, which initially resolved the issue temporarily. However, after some time, the check engine light returned and the P0743 code reappeared. The overdrive indicator was flashing during this period. After replacing the sensor again, the P0743 code now comes on immediately upon starting the vehicle. This behavior has led me to suspect a potential issue with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Could this be a faulty PCM or is there another underlying cause? Any insights or suggestions from experienced users would be greatly appreciated.
