Evap Solenoid No Ground - Where Does the Ground Come From in ECM?
I'm experiencing an issue with my evaporative solenoid not having a proper ground connection. The vehicle's ECM is not providing a ground to the solenoid, and I'm unsure where this ground originates. Can someone clarify the grounding path for the evap solenoid in relation to the ECM? Any guidance on diagnosing or testing would be greatly appreciated.
The ECM typically grounds the evaporative solenoid based on specific operating conditions. However, using a proper scan tool allows you to actuate the solenoid for functional testing. Check for any stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), as these may provide further insight into the issue. Others in the community might also have experience with this particular fault.
