2005 Elantra Camshaft Sensor Replacement Caused Complete Brake Failure

I recently had a friend replace the camshaft sensor in my 2005 Elantra. After the replacement, while driving home, I suddenly lost all brake function. When I pressed the brake pedal, it went all the way to the floor with no resistance at all. This is extremely concerning and has raised serious safety concerns. Does anyone know if replacing a camshaft sensor could potentially cause such a severe issue? Could there be a connection between the sensor replacement and the brake failure?
