'01 Durango 4.7L - P0304 cylinder misfire

Model: Durango Fault Code: P0304 Posted: 2007-02-14 07:52

not much, like a teaspoon at a time and let it sit overnight or longer if u can, then with the plugs out bump it over till it stops spraying fluid and carbon from the spark plug holes then change the engine oil!

Well to let you know how it went Saturday and to get what you think on it, I did the leak test on #4 cylinder as long as a few others too. I did #1 first then #2 & #6 (both sides of the bad one) and they all checked out between 2-5% leakage which is damn good (I think)! Then I did #4; I was putting in about 100 psi and it wouldn’t hold over 15-20 psi. What in the world do you think would cause an 85% leakage rate. I double and triple checked thinking I might of did it wrong the first time and no matter what I did it always was the same. I then checked a good one again and I was doing it right. I checked all the normal leakage points like exhaust, TB, oil cap and dipstick, and the radiator cap and there was no noticeable leak coming from either of these places. I also tried checking around the head thinking maybe a blown gasket but I didn’t notice anything. So what you think? lol

if you have 85% leakage rate on that cylinder then you should be able to find the leak, likely rings or a piston! Any further diag would reqire at the least removing the cylinder head!
