Dodge Ram 1500 P0441 Code: Causes and Fixes After Replace Purge Valve

Model: Dodge Ram Fault Code: P0441 Posted: 2008-03-11 03:32

I have a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 3.1L V6 engine. About four months ago, my OBD2 scanner showed a P0441 code, which indicated an issue with the evaporative emission system purge control. I replaced the purge valve as recommended, and the check engine light stayed off for two to three weeks. However, it has returned, and the current diagnostic code is still P0441. I'm now wondering if there are other potential causes or if a rework of the system might be needed. Any insights or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated!

A loose or faulty gas cap is a common cause of P0441 and should be checked first.

While possible, it's less likely that the issue stems from a failed purge valve after replacement.

A cracked hose, faulty purge solenoid, or a malfunctioning charcoal canister could also trigger the P0441 code.

Yes — those components are often mislabeled at dealerships; double-check part names and specifications when ordering replacements.
