Dodge Durango 2001 P0302 Misfire Diagnosis: Spark, Fuel, and Injector Issues

Model: Dodge Durango Fault Code: P0302 Posted: 2014-05-08 17:09

I've been consistently encountering fault code P0302 on my 2001 Dodge Durango. I've already replaced all original spark plugs and swapped out the coil packs, and fuel injector resistance tests show no issues. The engine exhibits symptoms of restricted fuel flow—like it's being starved—and I have to slowly introduce fuel to get it running properly. Could this be due to back pressure or a fuel delivery issue? Any guidance on diagnosing this would be greatly appreciated.

P0302 indicates a misfire in cylinder #2. Are there any other diagnostic codes present? Check for spark at cylinder #2. Is the fuel injector pulsing as expected? Perform a compression test to rule out mechanical issues. A DIY approach: swap the fuel injector from cylinder #2 with one from another cylinder—observe if the P0302 code follows the injector. Your last sentence is unclear—is it describing an observation or asking a question?
