P0308 Misfire Cylinder 8 on 1999 Dodge Dakota - How to Diagnose and Fix

Model: dodge dakota Fault Code: P0308 Posted: 2016-10-17 14:44

I recently replaced the spark plugs and spark plug wires on my 1999 Dodge Dakota, but cylinder 8 continues to cause a check engine light to come on. The fault code detected is P0308, which indicates a misfire in cylinder 8. Additionally, I'm seeing an issue with the governor pressure sensor. After replacing all related components, the problem persists. I'd like to know how to properly diagnose and resolve this misfire. Any guidance on checking for spark at the plug, injector pulsing, compression, or vacuum levels would be greatly appreciated. I recently purchased this truck and love it—definitely don't want to sell it due to its reliability potential.

Is the only fault code you're seeing P0308? Has the governor/transmission sensor issue remained active? P030
