Code p0137 06 Dodge Charger RT

Model: Dodge Charger RT Fault Code: P0137 Posted: 2017-02-08 23:06

I have an 06 dodge charger RT and the engine light is on. I check the codes and it's the p0137 which is an o2 sensor. Well I changed all the o2s and the 2 rear pigtails for o2s and put a new ecm in it. I can't get the engine light to turn off to save my life. I need to get it inspected. Has anyone else have this problem? The only thing I can think of is the cat is bad. But it runs perfectly fine. Please help thank u

I am guessing this is a 5.7L? There are NO other codes? P0137-O2 SENSOR 1/2 CIRCUIT LOW likely a circuit issue*, do you have a scanner capable of live data -? what is signal return voltage? With a lot of probing we could try to work this with a DVOM and probing wires - how comfortable are you with wiring diagrams and a DVOM? Possible Causes from manual INTERMITTENT DTC (K141) O2 1/2 SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND (K904) O2 RETURN (DOWN) CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND (K141) O2 1/2 SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO THE (K904) O2 RETURN (DOWN) CIRCUIT 1/2 OXYGEN SENSOR

It is a 5.7. And that is the only code. I'm fixing to climb back underneath there and check the voltage. I'm somewhat ok at diagnostics. And I can't connect to obd2 because the battery was dead. And I read that the computer has to relearn something. If you cycle the key 3 times it gives u the codes and if you leave it in the on position in 15 seconds the engine light flashes and apparently that means that the obd2 isn't ready to read. It's only ready when the engine light stays on and doesn't flash. I tried connecting to it yesterday and was a no go. Discover more Forum Engine engine Another thing is I pulled of the intake and saw the mass air flow sensor was covered with crap. I cleaned it off. Do you think that could be the reason it's running rich? All this bs started when I put in a K&N air filter. Do you think it has anything to do with spark plugs? P0137 what I've read is bank 1 sensor 2 low voltage. Now bank 1 is on the passenger side correct? I'm going to pull o2s out and see if there's anything on it. The only other thing I can think is the cat is bad. But the car runs like a champ. This is why you don't buy dodges I've never had luck with them. One more question do you know where the ground wire is grounded at? Motor or frame? Thanks again man

It's not getting 12v to o2s. Trace wire? Or fuse?

The key trick is convenient but will not display all codes-consider getting a scanner. Advise against K&N so problematic. Why do you think its running rich? Something indicating that? Why do you suspect the plugs - they are the called for Champions ? Bank 1 is drivers side - sensor 2 is after cat. No reason to suspect CAT - the system has codes for cats. What ground wire are you referring to? Those aftermarket inexpensive wire it yourself o2 sensors are not ideal and problematic. I work on fleets many dodges ( law enforcement vehicles). Biggest problem I see is modifications, non OEM parts, o2 sensor 4 wires, KOEO what is Voltage on DB/YL ? what is V on DB/DG? What is V on BR/WT ? may show 0 let us know. This is terminal 1 heater. BK/LB or BR is ground.

All I did was check the pins. Looking at it and the clip up. pin 1 was like .68. Pin 2 was ground pin 3 was like 2.6volts pin 4 was around 4.8volts. That's with key on motor off. Shouldn't it be sending 12volts to one of those pins?

pin #1 the 12v would be the o2 sensor heater circuit, the PCM supplies the 12v and will switch it on off - as needed. #4 the 4,8V is reference voltage. #3 the 2.6 is return...and 2.6 is questionable out of spec...(2.4-2.6 sensor NFG) #2 is ground. let me get more spec on #3 voltages -

NOTE I just saw this side note..... If an O2 Sensor was replaced, the PCM RAM memory must be cleared, either by disconnecting the PCM C1 connector or momentarily disconnecting the Battery negative terminal.

There is a new pcm in it.

Anonymous 2017-02-09 16:46

clearing the RAM is too easy to not attempt. The sensor is aftermarket and the voltage is suspect 2.6 - I would recommend a new sensor OEM that means DODGE part.... I will do some checking for other tests later and post. A scanner would aid this checking. Is trans a 42RLE or NGC ?

Pin 3 is 4.08 Pin 4 is 2.49

I have replaced o2s. Changed spark plugs. And still getting the code. It's really driving me crazy.

Anonymous 2017-02-16 16:03

As I posted a scanner would really aid in this checking... what is your scanner showing as voltage on o2 sensors B1S2 ? >> you may have voltage at sensor but not getting to PCM, wiring issues. >> could also look at fuel trims...ECT and other readings... Plugs are Champion ? And any reason you changed them ? O2 sensor was from Dodge? Previous readings were out of spec...2.4 or 2.6. Did you correct that K&N issue? so problematic . There are no exhaust leaks?

Did u get it fixed I'm having same problem
