2007 Dodge Caliber PO622: Alternator Not Charging Despite New Alternator and PCM Replacement

Model: dodge caliber Fault Code: P0622 Posted: 2010-02-12 22:19

My 2007 Dodge Caliber with a 2.0-liter engine is showing fault code PO622, indicating the alternator is not charging. I have already replaced the alternator with a new one, and there is confirmed battery power supplied to the alternator. However, no voltage is detected on the field or sense wires that connect from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to the alternator. All fuses in the integrated power module have been checked and are functioning properly. The system includes an internal voltage regulator within the PCM. My question is: Is there a way to test the voltage regulator function without replacing the PCM, or should I consider replacing the PCM as the root cause? I've also verified that the field and sense wires—running from the PCM to the alternator—are intact and not cut using a multimeter. The connector connections are secure and in good condition.

I replaced the PCM with a new one and installed another fresh alternator, but the issue persists. Has anyone else experienced this same PO622 problem on their 2007 Dodge Caliber? Any troubleshooting tips or known fixes?
