P0342 Fault Code Diagnosis and Repair for 2001 Daewoo Leganza

Model: Daewoo Fault Code: P0342 Posted: 2006-10-04 20:46

I'm experiencing a DTC P0342 (Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Low Input) on my 2001 Daewoo Leganza. I understand the meaning of this code, but I need guidance on how to diagnose and resolve it. What are the most effective steps to troubleshoot this issue? Should I start by checking the camshaft position sensor itself or inspecting the wiring harness? Are there known common causes such as a slipped timing belt or faulty wiring? Any advice or recommendations for testing procedures, especially for older models like the 2001 Daewoo Leganza, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Mike

Have you checked the camshaft position sensor or inspected its wiring? A visual inspection of the connector and harness is a good first step.

The sensor was replaced several years ago due to a recall. Since there's no longer any warranty coverage, I'm trying to diagnose it myself. I'm currently working on obtaining a repair manual for the vehicle. Any practical troubleshooting tips or diagnostic steps would be very helpful! Mike

scope the signal of the cam sensor or at least check the wiring to the sensor. Probably requires another one if they were recalled! Or else something else is causing the code, like wiring, timing belt slipped etc!
