I recently received OBD2 diagnostic code P0496 on my 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The code indicates an issue with the evaporative emission system flow during the purge cycle. Could someone please explain what this means in simple terms and how to diagnose or resolve it?
The purge valve is open (allowing vacuum) when not commanded to close. During normal operation, there should be vacuum present on only one of the two vacuum lines connected to the purge valve.
