P0011 Fault in 2013 Chevrolet Malibu 2.4L 4-Cylinder: Solenoid or Engine Mechanical Issue?
I own a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu with a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine. Two months ago, the check engine light came on and diagnostics revealed code P0011. I recently cleaned the intake cam position actuator solenoid valve and reset the battery. After driving approximately 6,000 km, the check engine light reappeared while I was traveling at 80 km/h and during acceleration. A new P0011 code was detected. The engine oil level is normal, and I have been performing regular oil changes. The issue appears to be recurring after a solenoid cleaning, suggesting either a faulty solenoid or a deeper mechanical problem such as carbon buildup in the engine. There is also a minor oil seepage observed on the underside of the oil pan, though the oil level remains stable and unchanged over time.
